In the match held in Tashkent’s Markazi Stadium, Pakhtakor striker Igor Sergeev opened the scoring shortly before the interval.
And although the visiting team dominated the second half, Tractor Sazi could not find a way past a stubborn Pakhtakor backline as the home side claimed the victory to move within two points of its opponent.
Tractor Sazi stayed top of Group C with six points followed by Pakhtakor.
The Iranian team will host Pakhtakor in Tabriz’s Yadegar-e Emam Stadium on April 6.
