We Could Have Scored More Goals against India, Queiroz Says

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran national football team coach Carlos Queiroz said his side could have scored more goals in their Asian World Cup Qualifiers tie against India.

Iran defeated India 4-0 in Group D in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium on Thursday.

“Our players’ motivations were high in this match. I believe that it was a beautiful match and we could have scored more goals,” Queiroz said in the post-match news conference.

Group D leader Iran will play Oman in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium on March 29.

“We moved one step closer to our goal. Iran is still at top of the group and we want to advance to the next stage as the first team,” the Portuguese coach added.

Carlos Queiroz also paid tribute to "legend" Johan Cruyff after the former Barcelona coach died at the age of 68.
