Iran’s Mahjoub Takes Silver at Judo Grand Prix Tbilisi
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Javad Mahjoub of Iran claimed a silver medal at the Judo Grand Prix Tbilisi 2016 on Sunday.
The -100kg judoka started the campaign with a victory over Saidzhalol Saidov from Tajikistan.
Mahjoub then beat Latvian Jevgenijs Borodavko and Uzbekistan’s Soyib Kurbonov.
He defeated Italian Domenico Di Guida to advance to the final but lost to Sweden’s Martin Pacek.
Saeid Mollaei also was Iran’s representative in the three-day tournament.
