Russian Military Registers Seven Ceasefire Violations in Syria

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Russian center for Syrian reconciliation has registered seven ceasefire violations over the last 24 hours.

The Russian center for Syrian reconciliation at the Hmeymim airbase registered a total of seven violations of the ceasefire regime in Syria in the last 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said Tuesday.

"The cessation of hostilities in Syria has been respected in most of the Syrian provinces. However, a total of seven violations of the ceasefire regime have been registered in the Latakia province," the ministry said in a daily bulletin posted on its website, Sputnik News reported.

On February 22, Russia and the United States brokered an agreement on a ceasefire in Syria. The UN Security Council unanimously adopted Resolution 2268, endorsing the Russia-US agreement on the cessation of hostilities in Syria.

The ceasefire took effect on February 27. It does not apply to terrorist groups operating in the country.
