Iran Raps Israel’s Constant Violation of Palestinians’ Rights

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman denounced the continual violation of Palestinians’ rights by the Israeli regime, and deplored a muted response from the international community to the occupying regime’s ruthless atrocities.

The most basic rights of the Palestinian people are being constantly violated by the Zionist regime of Israel, while regional governments do not care about the issue of Palestine because of being engaged in fabricated conflicts in the region, Hossein Jaberi Ansari said at his weekly press conference on Monday.

He also deplored the international community and regional states for inaction on the Tel Aviv regime’s continual bombardment of Gaza and arrest of Palestinians.

The Iranian spokesman then referred to the dire situation in Palestine, the Gaza Strip in particular, over the past couple of decades as a practical example of disrespect for human rights, the nations’ right to decide their fates, international conventions and all other values.

His comments came after a new round of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip in recent days.

Israel launched strikes in southern Gaza late on May 4 in response to what it called mortar attacks on its troops along the border. A day later, the Tel Aviv regime launched strikes on four targets in northern Gaza and another four in the south.

Over the last year, Israel killed almost 30 Palestinians in Gaza, wounded over 800 and arrested dozens. Its tanks rolled into Gaza about 50 times.

Meanwhile, the siege on Gaza is still intact and even worse than before. Medical patients die waiting for an Israeli permit, Rafah border crossing rarely opens, and the Gaza rebuilding process is proceeding at a snail's pace.
