We Lost our Freshness against Iran, Canada Coach Hoag Says

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Canada volleyball coach Glenn Hoag feels his team’s 3-2 defeat to Poland on Saturday made it more difficult coming into their match against Iran.

Canada lost to Iran 3-2 (27-29, 19-25, 25-20, 25-21, 16-14) on the second day of the Men’s World Olympic Qualification Tournament at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium on Sunday.

“We knew it would be difficult today after playing five sets yesterday. We lost some of our freshness after the second set,” Hoag said.

“Iran made some key substitutions after the second set. We have to focus on our next matches after the rest day,” the Canadian coach added.

Canada will face Australia on Tuesday while Iran meet France.
