Extremist Settlers Storm Al-Aqsa Compound


TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Jewish settlers on Sunday renewed storming the Al-Aqsa through the Al-Magharbah Gate, under the protection of the Israeli police in a bid to perform their Talmudic rites.

According to a statement by the Islamic Awqaf Department in Jerusalem, a state of high tension prevailed in the old occupied city of Jerusalem following the incursions, during which settlers performed the Talmudic dances and rituals near Bab Al-Qataneen, Bab Al-Asbat.

Another group of extremists performed Talmudic rituals inside Bab ar-Rahma graveyard, adjacent to the eastern wall of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. They also made provocative tours trying to storm the mosque from different entrances other than the Al-Magharbah Gate, Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported.

The settlers' incursions came after repeated calls from the so-called Temple Mount organizations to implement a large- scale of incursions to celebrate the Jewish holiday of (Shavuot) which lasts till Monday.

Palestinian figures in the occupied old city of Jerusalem called on all citizens to head to Al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan to protect it from the repeated settlers' provocations.
