Iran Comes Back to Defeat Serbia at FIVB World League

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian national volleyball team came back from a two-set deficit to defeat Serbia 3-2 (16-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-23, 16-14) at the FIVB World League third week on Friday.

In the match held at the 12,000-seat hall of Tehran’s Azadi Sports Complex, Mousavi impressed with 8 blocking points while Marko Ivovic was the best scorer with 19 points for Serbia.

With this victory, Iran re-balanced the World League head-to-head record with Serbia with each team having won twice against the other.

Iran has been scheduled to face Italy and Argentina on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

The FIVB Volleyball World League is an international men's volleyball competition. Created in 1990, it is the longest and richest of all the international events organized by the Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). The tournament is annual.
