UN Security Council Condemns Nice Attack

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The United Nations Security Council condemned the attack in Nice, stressing the need to bring perpetrators to justice.

As many as 80 people were killed on Thursday night, when a truck rammed into a crowd watching Bastille Day fireworks.

"The members of the Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the barbaric and cowardly terrorist attack which took place in Nice, France, on the evening of the 14th of July 2016, Bastille Day, and during which at least 77 people, including children, were killed and dozens injured," the council said in a statement reported by Sputnik.

The members of the council expressed their condolences to the families of the victims and the French government.

"The members of the Security Council underlined the need to bring the perpetrators of these terrorist acts to justice," the statement read.
