13 Senior Daesh Figures Killed in Iraqi Airstrikes

TEHRAN (Tasnim) –At least 13 senior figures of the Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group were killed in an Iraqi airstrike in a town in Iraq’s embattled western province of al-Anbar, the country’s joint operations command said in a statement.

The statement on Friday said the airstrike in the town of al-Qaim, located nearly 400 km northwest of Baghdad near the Syrian border, killed Ahmed Hassan Abu Kheir, the brother-in-law of Daesh leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

It added Iraqi warplanes destroyed two car bombs and a laboratory used by terrorists to make various improvised explosive devices (IEDs), Kuwait News Agency reported.

Foreign militants from Russia and the North Caucasus region of Chechnya were among the slain terrorist commanders.
