Iran's Tayyebnia in Beijing to Attend Iran-China Economic Forum

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran's Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ali Tayyebnia is in Beijing to participate in the upcoming 18th session of Iran-China Joint Economic Commission.

Heading a high-ranking economic delegation, Tayyebnia arrived at the Chinese capital’s airport on Monday and was received by Iran’s Ambassador to China Ali Asghar Khaji as well as Chinese commercial officials.

During his two-day visit, the Iranian minister is planned to take part in the 18th session of Iran-China Joint Economic Commission, scheduled to be held on Tuesday at the Chinese Ministry of Commerce in the capital.

Iran and China plan to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on trade and economic cooperation following the session.

Tayyebnia is scheduled to hold talks with other senior Chinese officials as well.

Back in January, China’s President Xi Jinping paid an official visit to Tehran and held meetings with senior Iranian officials, including President Hassan Rouhani.

Rouhani at the time hailed the opening of a new chapter in Iran-China relations, saying that Tehran and Beijing plan to promote their bilateral ties to $600 billion within the next decade.
