Hezbollah Strikes Terrorists in Lebanon’s Northeast Border Town

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Fighters of the Lebanese Hezbollah movement targeted terrorists along the country’s northeastern border with Syria Sunday, inflicting casualties on the extremists, media affiliated with the party said.

The War Media Center said fighters targeted terrorists from Fatah al-Sham Front, formerly known as the Nusra Front, with artillery in an area known as Al-Qanzah peak on the outskirts of Arsal, according to the Daily Star.

The War Media Center did not elaborate on the casualties.

Daesh (ISIL) and the Fatah al-Sham Front have been entrenched on the outskirts of Arsal since August 2014, when they briefly overran the town.

Hezbollah, which is directly involved in the five-year Syrian war, and the Lebanese Army strike their posts on a near daily basis along the restive border region to keep them at bay.
