Asian Beach Games: Samari, Ali Akbari Claim Gold Medals

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Ali Samari and Elyas Ali Akbari collected two gold medals for the Iranian delegation in the 5th Asian Beach Games on Tuesday.

Sports

Samari won the gold medal in the Men’s Shot Put with a throw of 18.29.

Silver medal went to Chinese Guo Yanxiang (17.78) and Thailand’s Promrob Juntima took the bronze medal (17.10).

Ali Akbari also seized a gold medal for Iran in the Men's -81kg Kurash.

Reza Ghasemi also took a silver medal in the 60m race with a time of 6.55.

Barakat Al-Harthi from Oman claimed the gold medal, finishing 6.44. Bronze medal went to Chinese Pan Xinyue with 6.77.

Mohammadhossein Sheikholeslami in Kurash had already won a gold medal for Iran.

Muay Thai fighters Masoud Minaei and Kaveh Soleymani had also claimed two gold medals.

Amirhossein Khademian in Ju-Jitsu and Sobhan Taherkhani have won two bronze medals respectively.

Ghanbarali Ghanbari has seized a silver in Kurash.

The 5th Asian Beach Games started on September 24  in the Vietnamese city of Danang and will finish on October 3.

The event has brought around 3,000 Asian beach sports athletes competing in 14 sports, 22 disciplines and 172 events together.
