Leader Underlines Need for Iran’s Constant Military Readiness

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei called on Iran’s Armed Forces to remain in a constant state of preparedness to counter threats.

“The Iranian nation is today faced with a wide range of enemies because of its insistence on Islam, independence, sublime values… and the Armed Forces must be ready all the time to play their role if necessary,” Ayatollah Khamenei said in an address to the graduation ceremony of Army cadets, held in Tehran on Wednesday.

Imam Khamenei also paid tribute to the servicemen who devoted their lives to fighting for the country during eight years of Iraqi imposed war in the 1980s, stressing that the whole world, including both foes and friends, acknowledge Iran’s greatness, smartness, courage and might.

The Leader then referred to the “young, pious and efficient” forces as the country’s real asset.

Imam Khamenei has repeatedly stressed the need for strengthening the country’s military power and called on the Armed Forces to maintain a high level of preparedness.

In a speech back in August, the Leader said the country’s military preparedness should reach such a high level that the enemies would not dare to even think about taking action against Iran.
