It happened on Dudley Avenue near West 73rd Street in the Detroit-Shoreway neighborhood at around 10:20 p.m. When police arrived on the scene, they found that two young girls, ages 3 and 9, had been injured by gunfire.
Cleveland police told Fox 8 that the children were alive when they arrived at MetroHealth Medical Center.
The preliminary investigation found that this was a drive-by shooting, and that the gunfire came from a dark-colored vehicle that was driving toward the home. Police say shots were fired into the home from a dark-colored vehicle. Both children were inside the home when they were wounded.
Distraught family members were seen outside the home being interviewed by police. At least four evidence markers were in the street and two were near the house.
