Iran Held by India at AFC Women’s U-19 Championship
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran was held to a 1-1 draw against India in the first Group D match of the AFC Women’s U-19 Championship 2017 Qualifiers on Wednesday.
Kashmina gave India the lead in the 59th minute while Hanieh Mokhtarifar scored the equalizer for Iran in the 81st minute.
The top four teams in the 2015 edition of the AFC U-19 Championship — champion Japan, North Korea, South Korea and China — received a direct qualification to the tournament leaving the 14 teams to battle it out in the qualifiers.
The winner from each group (total four teams) will qualify to the AFC U-19 Women’s Championship in 2017 (eight teams in total) which will be held in China.
