Russian Oil Delegation to Visit Tehran Next Week: Official

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Deputy Oil Minister for International Affairs Amir Hossein Zamaninia said representatives of a number of major Russian oil companies are scheduled to visit Tehran next week.

Directors of several Russian oil firms, including Gazprom, Tatneft, LUKoil, and Zarubezhneft will hold talks with officials of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) in the coming week, Zamaninia said on Sunday, Shana reported.

He added that Iranian and Russian representatives will review bilateral agreements signed between the two countries in the past.

Back in October, the NIOC and Russia’s Taftnet group signed an initial agreement to cooperate over development of Dehloran oil field in western Iran.

The agreement was signed by Managing Director of the NIOC Ali Kardor and Tatneft Director General Nail Maganov.

"As result of meetings held between the two companies earlier, a memorandum was signed. I hope that we will manage to make the follow-up steps in a more serious direction," Kardor said following the signing ceremony.

He added that there was also a chance for Tatneft to cooperate with Iranian companies and produce various types of equipment.

Iran sits on the world’s fourth-largest oil and second-largest gas reserves, and is among the world’s top 10 oil and top five natural gas producers.
