Army Strikes Severe Blow to Terrorists across Syria

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syria’s army, backed by volunteer forces, continued to make gains in its military campaign against Takfiri terrorists across the Arab country, inflicting major losses on them.

On Monday, Syrian forces and their allies targeted Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) positions in Mashrafit Abu Jabar in east of northwestern province of Aleppo, killing and injuring large groups of them, the official SANA news agency reported.

4 vehicles belonging to the terrorist group were also destroyed in the clashes.

Separately, Syrian warplanes pounded the hideouts of Takfiri militants in the areas of Atshan, Taybet al-Imam, al-Latameneh, Skaik, Kafr Zaita, Latmin, al-Saiyad, Mourek, al-Zalaqiyat, al-Zakat and al-Lahaya, in the west-central province of Hama, leaving scores of them dead and injured.

Additionally, Syrian fighter jets hit the terrorists’ positions across the northwestern province of Idlib and claimed the lives of dozens of them in the districts of Maaret al-Nuam, Kafr Sajnah, al-Tamania, Khan Sheikhon and Hish.

Syria has been gripped by civil war since March 2011 with various terrorist groups, including Daesh (also known as ISIS or ISIL), currently controlling parts of it.

According to a report by the Syrian Center for Policy Research, the conflict has claimed the lives of over 470,000 people, injured 1.9 million others, and displaced nearly half of the country’s pre-war population of about 23 million within or beyond its borders.
