20 Hurt in Istanbul Stadium Blast: Reports


TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Media reports said two explosions have been heard in Turkey's Istanbul, with a car bomb reportedly the cause of one blast outside a soccer stadium.

At least 20 people are hurt following an explosion outside an Istanbul soccer stadium.

NTV reported a car bomb targeting riot police was the cause of an explosion outside Besiktas Stadium on Saturday night, while local television footage shows a fire burning outside the stadium.

The Interior Ministry said at least 20 people had been hurt outside the stadium.

Reuters reports police have cordoned off some traffic outside the stadium while ambulances and fire trucks have been dispatched.

CNN Turkey reported there was also an explosion heard near Istanbul's central Taksim Square.
