Iranian Diplomat Urges Diversified Trade with Bosnia

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An Iranian deputy foreign minister called for diversification of trade ties with Bosnia and Herzegovina with the help of the two countries’ private sectors.

In a meeting with Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Safet Softic in Tehran on Tuesday, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi highlighted the significant role of the two countries’ private sectors in diversifying bilateral trade ties.

Stressing the need for a jump in Tehran-Sarajevo economic relations, Sarmadi said the obstacles to banking interaction must be removed first.

For his part, Softic referred to political will and mutual interests as the best incentives for the expansion of trade ties between the two countries.

The Bosnian lawmaker, who is in Iran at the head of a parliamentary delegation, also held a meeting with Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani earlier in the day.
