Former Italy volleyball coach Mauro Berruto, Marcelo Mendez, Argentinean coach of Brazilian volleyball team Sada Cruzeiro, and Italian coach Andrea Anastasi were among the candidates but it seems the Bulgarian coach is the only candidate of the Iranian federation.
“Stoychev is reviewing Iran’s matches in the Olympic Games. He is in touch with us,” Afshardoost said.
Stoychev will inform us next week, he add.
Iran is not going to renew Raul Lozano’s contract.
Under guidance of the Argentinean coach, Iran finished in fifth place in the 2016 Olympic Games.
