US-Backed Terrorists in Worst Situation Ever: Syrian General

DAMASCUS (Tasnim) – A high-ranking Syrian army general said the US plot to disintegrate the Arab country has failed since Washington’s terrorist stooges are in the worst conditions ever.

The Greater Middle East plot, through which the US tried to use terrorism against Syria and other governments in the region, has been foiled, Brigadier General Mohammad Abbas said in an interview with the Tasnim News Agency.

“Today, with the failure of the plot, I strongly believe that the morale of the terrorist groups, who have been recruited to implement the (US) plot, is at its worst,” he noted.

The commander further emphasized that in contrast, the resistance movement forces are in high spirits and fully prepared to continue countering the US plot.

The Remarks came as the Syrian army continued its counter-operations in the western countryside of Palmyra on Friday, targeting Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) positions around the strategic T-4 Military Airport that is situated along the Palmyra-Homs Highway, according to local media reports.

The Syrian army recently took nearly all remaining terrorist-held parts of Aleppo after a four-year battle. Hundreds of foreign-backed terrorists have surrendered in Aleppo in recent weeks.

Syria has been gripped by civil war since March 2011 with various terrorist groups, including Daesh (ISIL), controlling parts of it.
