Yemeni Army Repels Massive Attack by Saudi-Led Coalition in Taiz

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Forces of the Yemeni army and popular committees managed to repulse a massive land, air and sea attack launched by a Saudi-led coalition on the Yemeni province of Taiz.

The army units on Saturday repelled the massive attack mounted by the coalition forces and the Saudi mercenaries in Dhubab and Kahboub regions west of Taiz, the Arabic-language al-Ahed news reported.

A military source in Yemen said despite extensive air and sea support, the Saudi-led coalition’s attack on the two regions was foiled.

He added that the Yemeni army and popular committees also destroyed 15 military vehicles of the coalition forces in Dhubab and Kahboub.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition led by the Saudi regime for more than 21 months but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.

Since March 2015, the kingdom and some of its Arab allies have been launching deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Nearly 10,000 Yemenis, including 4,000 women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
