“The United Nations welcomes the first anniversary of the achievement of implementation day under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) which marks a significant milestone in the historic agreement,” Haq said during a daily press briefing on Tuesday, Sputnik reported.

“The United Nations shall continue to support the implementation of the JCPOA, in accordance with resolution 2231 (2015) and other relevant decisions of the Security Council,” he added

Similarly, the European Union (EU) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Monday reaffirmed their support for the Iran nuclear deal on the first anniversary of the accord’s implementation.

The JCPOA, the nuclear agreement Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France, and Germany) reached in July 2015, came into force on January 16 last year.
