Bloodshed to Accelerate Al Khalifa’s Demise: Iranian Cleric

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An Iranian cleric lashed out at the Manama regime for executing three young political activists, saying such cruel acts against people will only speed up the downfall of the Al Khalifa monarchy.

The recent execution of three young Bahraini political activists will definitely hasten the demise of Al Khalifa regime and put the pillars of its monarchy in more jeopardy, Ayatollah Kazem Seddiqi said in an address to worshippers at Friday prayers in Tehran.

He also underlined that the notorious and “blood-sucking” Al Khalifa regime in Bahrain has lost its legitimacy.

Inspired by Iran’s Islamic Revolution, the people of Bahrain will boot the illegitimate Al Khalifa government out of that country through their resistance, the cleric added.

On January 15, Bahrain’s ruling regime executed three anti-government activists over their alleged role in a 2014 bomb attack, amid widespread public anger against the death verdicts.

On January 9, Bahrain’s Court of Cassation upheld the death penalties given to Sami Mushaima, Abbas Jamil Tahir al-Sami’ and Ali Abdulshahid al-Singace over allegations of killing a member of Emirati forces who had been assisting Manama in its suppression of Bahraini protesters in the northern village of al-Daih back in March 2014.

Seven other convicts have also been sentenced to life in prison in the case.
