Syrian Jets Pound Daesh Positions in Deir Ez-Zor; Scores of Terrorists Killed

On Sunday, Syrian warplanes heavily pounded the positions of the Daesh militants in south of Deir ez-Zor, killing large groups of them and destroying several of their vehicles, Syria's official news agency, SANA, reported.

A tank belonging to the terrorists was destroyed in al-Mohandiseen area in the western city in the bombardments.

The Syrian government troops also targeted the gathering centers of the Takfiri terrorists in the areas of al-Bogheilia, Ayash, al-Taim and al-Hweiqa, killing dozens of them and destroying a number of their vehicles.

Separately, the Syrian forces launched several attacks against Daesh positions in the areas of Ber al-Fawa’ara and Talet al-Awamed in the central province of Homs, leaving large groups of them dead and injured.

Syria has been gripped by civil war since March 2011 with various terrorist groups currently controlling parts of it.

According to a report by the Syrian Center for Policy Research, the conflict has claimed the lives of over 470,000 people, injured 1.9 million others, and displaced nearly half of the country’s pre-war population of about 23 million within or beyond its borders.
