Persepolis remains top of the Iran Professional League (IPL) table, four points ahead of Tractor Sazi.
“I am very happy for the victory. We showed great patience to win this match,” Persepolis coach Branko Ivankovic said in the post-match news conference.
“I think the referee should have awarded us two penalties. Gostaresh Foolad takes advantage of several good players and I believe that we earned a great win,” he added.
Earlier in the day, IPL holder Esteghlal Khuzestan drew 1-1 with Sepahan, Zob Ahan edged past Foolad, Saipa defeated Siahjamegan 1-0, and Padideh and Naft Tehran played out a goalless draw.
