Yemeni Forces Repel Massive Attacks by Saudi-Led Coalition in Taiz

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Yemeni army and popular committees managed to repulse two major attacks by the Saudi-led coalition forces in the southwestern province of Taiz, local reports said.

The Yemeni forces on Saturday foiled two massive assaults by Saudi Arabia and its allies north of Dhubab in Taiz, according to the Arabic-language al-Masirah television network.

In retaliation of the Saudi attacks, the missile command of the Yemeni army also pounded a newly established base of the Saudi forces in the kingdom’s southern province of Najran.

A military source said the missile command of the Yemeni army also hit other positions of Saudi forces in Najran and Jizan.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by a coalition led by the Saudi regime for nearly two years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been launching airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Some 11,000 Yemenis, including women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
