Iran Professional League: Esteghlal Defeats Machine Sazi
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal football team defeated rock-bottom Machine Sazi 3-0 in the Iranian Professional League (IPL) on Wednesday.
Esteghlal remained 10 points adrift of IPL leader Persepolis for the title race.
In the match held in snowfall in Tabriz’s Yadegare Emam Stadium, Ali Ghorbani was on target for Esteghlal in the 43rd minute.
Mojtaba Haghdoost made it 2-0 in the 77th minute and Omid Noorafkan scored Esteghlal’s third goal in the 90th minute.
“I am so happy because we defeated Machine Sazi with a mixture of young and experienced players. This win achieved through good tactical planning,” Esteghlal coach Alireza Mansourian said.
Persepolis will host Tractor Sazi in the last match of the week.
