Malaysia to Carry Out Studies on 2 Iranian Oil Fields

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Malaysia's Bukhary International Ventures (BIV) has signed an initial agreement with the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) to carry out studies on the development of two oil fields in Iran, a report said.

During a recent ceremony in Tehran, Iran and Malaysia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) whereby BIV will carry out preliminary studies over Golshan and Ferdowsi oil fields in Iran’s south within seven months, Shana news agency reported on Saturday.

Following the signing ceremony, Gholamreza Manouchehri, the deputy head of the NIOC, said the two fields hold both gas and oil, adding that BIV will study the recovery of gas and its transfer to onshore facilities.

The Golshan oil field is one of the NIOC recent discoveries which is located at approximately 180 km southeast of the southern Iranian city of Bushehr, 65 km offshore the Persian Gulf.

Ferdowsi oil field is another recent discovery of the NIOC, located at approximately 190 kilometers southeast of Bushehr, 85 kilometers offshore the Persian Gulf.
