Syrian Aircraft Parachute Aid to Besieged Areas in Deir Ez-Zor

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syrian fighter jets on Wednesday airdropped a large scale of humanitarian aid in areas besieged by Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) Takfiri terrorists in the Arab country’s western province of Deir ez-Zor, a report said.

According to the report by Syria’s official news agency, SANA, Syrian warplanes parachuted food and relief aid to the city of Deir ez-Zor, which is held by Daesh.

Also, the Arab country’s armed forces continued to make gains in their fight against the terrorist group in the area of al-Bghailieh in the western countryside of the city, inflicting heavy losses on them.

Separately, Syrian warplanes pounded the positions of the Jund al-Aqsa terrorist group in the northwestern province of Idlib, claiming the lives of nearly 20 of them.

Syrian forces also targeted the gathering centers of the Takfiri Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, formerly known as al-Nusra Front, in the areas of al-Nazihin, Kom al-Rumman, and Tal Shihab in the country's southwestern city of Dara'a, leaving more than 70 terrorists dead and injured.

Syria has been gripped by civil war since March 2011 with various terrorist groups, including Daesh, currently controlling parts of it.

According to a report by the Syrian Center for Policy Research, the conflict has claimed the lives of over 470,000 people, injured 1.9 million others, and displaced nearly half of the country’s pre-war population of about 23 million within or beyond its borders.
