IRGC to Test-Fire New Rockets in Upcoming Drills

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force is going to stage massive war game in Iran’s eastern, central and northeastern regions on Monday, which will include the launch of a series of modern, high-accuracy rockets.

The military maneuver, codenamed Payambar-e Azam-11 (The Great Prophet-11), will last for three days.

The first stage of the drills on Monday will see the launch of modern rockets in central parts of Iran. The IRGC Ground Force has recently received the new rockets that can hit targets with pinpoint accuracy.

Drone units and the artillery will take the lead in the second phase of the war game on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, the Special Operations Forces, armor units and the Ground Force airborne unit are scheduled to take action.

Iran’s Armed Forces hold routine military exercises throughout the year.

The Islamic Republic has repeatedly assured other nations, especially neighboring states, that its military might poses no threat to other countries, stating that its defense doctrine is based on deterrence.
