Esteghlal Didn’t Deserve Defeat, Alireza Mansourian Says
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal football team's head coach Alireza Mansourian said his men didn’t deserve to lose against Al Ahli of the UAE.
The Iranian football team was defeated against Al Ahli 2-1 on Monday evening in Dubai’s Rashid Stadium in Group A of the AFC Champions League.
“We were the better team in the first half and Al Ahli played better in the second half. I think our players are inexperienced and need more time to become professional,” Mansourian said.
“Esteghlal could have won the match 2-1 but lacked a cutting edge. We didn’t deserve to lose in this match,” he added.
“We will have a tough match against Al Taawoun of Saudi Arabia next week and from now on we concentrate on the match,” Mansourian said.
