Iran, Kazakhstan Agree to Increase Cooperation in Sports

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Head of Iran’s National Olympic Committee Kioumars Hashemi and President of the Kazakh National Olympic Committee Timur Kulibayev signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Sapporo, Japan.

The agreement will enable both countries to organize joint trainings for athletes.

Hashemi is in Sapporo to attend the the 2017 Asian Winter Games.

Around 2,000 athletes, coaches, staff and officials from a meet-record 32 countries and regions are participating in the Asian Winter Games.

Iran has taken part in the prestigious competition with 10 athletes.

The 2017 Asian Winter Games started on February 19 in Sapporo, Japan and will run until February 26.
