According to Yemeni sources, they foiled attempts by Saudis and their mercenaries to advance toward the positions of Yemen’s army near Alab, al-Manar TV reported.
The sources said 30 Saudi troops and pro-Saudi militiamen loyal to fugitive former Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi were killed or injured in the clashes.
Saudi Arabia and its allies launched an aggression against Yemen in March 2015 in an attempt to restore power to Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
Some 11,000 Yemenis, including women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
The Saudi-led aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure, destroying many hospitals, schools, and factories.
