Several Saudi Mercenaries Killed in Yemeni Army’s Attack

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Yemeni army, in retaliation against the Saudi-led coalition forces, killed and injured 20 mercenaries of the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh, the Yemeni defense ministry said.

The Yemeni army and popular committees on Friday targeted positions of the mercenaries of Hadi in al-Maton District in Yemen’s northwestern province of al-Jawf, the defense ministry said.

During the surprise attack by the Yemeni forces, about 20 mercenaries were killed or injured, according to the Arabic-language al-Mayadeen TV.

In another development, several other mercenaries of Hadi were killed when a booby-trapped vehicle was exploded near a military base in the coastal town of Zinjibar in southern Yemen.

The Yemeni forces carried out the attacks in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians and destruction of the country’s infrastructure by the Saudi-led coalition.

The forces of the Arabian Peninsula country have already hit Saudi positions with various homegrown ballistic missiles, including “Qaher-1”, which has a range of 500 kilometers, and “Borkan-1”.

The solid propellant and Scud-type Borkan-1 missile reportedly has a range of more than 800 kilometers.
