Russia Registers 11 Ceasefire Violations in Syria

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Russian observers have recorded 11 ceasefire breaches in Syria over the past 24 hours, while their Turkish counterparts reported 13 violations, only one of which has been confirmed, the Russian Center for reconciliation of the warring parties said in its daily bulletin.

"Russian officers of the joint Russian-Turkish commission set up to monitor violations of the nationwide agreement have registered 11 violations in the provinces of Damascus (two), Latakia (seven) and Hama (two)," the bulletin said.

The Turkish counterparts reported 13 ceasefire breaches - three in the Aleppo province, five in the Damascus province, one in the Daraa province, one in the Hama province and three in the Homs province, the Russian center said, adding that only one of them was confirmed by Russian representatives.

Over the past 24 hours, Syrian government troops have recaptured from terrorists the territory with a total area of 186 square kilometers. The Syrian troops have regained control of 2,611 square meters since January 1. "The number of populated localities liberated by Syrian government troops from the armed units of the Daesh (known as ISIL or ISIS) terrorist organization is 91," the Russian Reconciliation center said.
