Iran Exporting Eggs to 10 Countries

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An Iranian deputy agriculture minister highlighted the steps the country has taken to secure a place in the highly competitive market for poultry products, saying Iran is now exporting chicken eggs to 10 countries, mostly in the region.

Speaking on a radio program on Sunday, Hassan Rokni said Iran ranks among the world's top 12 egg-producing countries in terms of quantity.

The annual chicken egg output in Iran stands around 950,000 tons, he added.

The deputy agriculture minister also noted that Iran’s chicken eggs are exported to 10 countries, including the Persian Gulf littoral states, Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Central Asian nations.

He went on to say that ground is being set for Iran’s chicken egg producers to enter more international markets.
