Iran Football Team Looks to Extra Player against China: FIFA

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s football federation has made Tuesday’s game against China free for spectators at Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.

Team Melli will host China in Group A of the 2018 World Cup qualifier.

With qualification firmly in its sights, Iran will look to its extra player as the team aims to clinch maximum points at home.

Steered by Queiroz, the Iranians have enjoyed arguably the smoothest qualifying campaign over the past two decades, FIFA wrote.

Iran may be one of the two undefeated sides of this campaign – the other being Australia - but it is the only team to maintain a perfect defensive record with zero goals conceded.

Iran leads Group A with 14 points, nine points ahead of China who sits fifth in the standing.
