Match against S. Korea Is Very Hard, Iran U-19 Volleyball Coach Says

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian U-19 volleyball team's coach Mohammad Vakili says that they will have a tough task against South Korea in the 11th Asian Boys’ U-19 Volleyball Championship semi-final.

Iran, which has already advanced to the 2017 FIVB Boys’ U-19 World Championship, lost its first match against the Korean team in straight sets.

Mohammad Vakili’s boys have been scheduled to face the Korean team on Tuesday after defeating Thailand 3-0 on Monday.

“After we lost to Korea and China, we tried to learn from our mistakes. In the match against Thailand, we tried to reduce our mistakes. As I’ve already said, our first target is to qualify for the world meet and we had accomplished it. Our second goal is to defend our title,” Vakili said.

“From Tuesday, we have a plan for the World Championship. The semi-final and maybe, the final match in this championship, for us will serve as tune-up matches ahead the World Championship."

"However, I admit that our next match against Korea will be very hard. I won’t worry about the match, anyway. Korea will worry,” he added.
