Tractor Sazi Out of Title Race after Losing to Saba
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Tractor Sazi football team has no chance of winning Iran Professional League (IPL) after being defeated by Saba.
On Friday, Tractor Sazi lost to Saba 3-0 in Qom in Week 26 at the Yadegar Imam Stadium.
Omid Jahanbakhsh put Saba into the lead in the 61st minute.
Tractor Sazi slumped deeper into trouble after Saeid Aghaei was sent off in the 86th minute due to receiving his second yellow card.
Jahanbakhsh scored once again in the injury time after beating the offside trap.
Tractor Sazi was reduced to nine men after Karrar Jassim was forced to leave the field for receiving his second yellow card. The Iraqi midfielder protested the referee for penalty.
Meysam Majidi scored Saba’s third goal in the 97th minute from the spot to ruin Tractor Sazi hopes of winning the title.
Furthermore, Saipa defeated Naft Tehran 1-0, Machine Sazi lost to Padideh 2-0 and Foolad drew 1-1 with Sepahan.
Persepolis leads the table, 11 points clear of Esteghlal football team.
Tractor Sazi is third, 12 points adrift of Persepolis.
