Iran’s Papi Wins Bronze at IWF Youth World Championships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Mahdi Papi from Iran claimed a bronze medal in the 2017 IWF Youth World Championships on Sunday.

Sports

Papi lifted 132kg in the snatch and 172kg in clean and jerk, winning the bronze medal for a total of 304kg.

Artyom Antropov from Kazakhstan earned the gold medal for a total of 323kg.

The silver medal went to Bartlomiej Stefan Adamus from Poland with 318kg in total.

The 2017 IWF Youth World Championships are currently underway in Bangkok, Thailand. They started on April 3 and will continue through the April 10.

A total of 445 weightlifters from more than 50 countries have participated in the competitions.
