Iran Humiliates Jordan in U-16 WABA Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran earned its third victory in a row at the U-16 West Asia Basketball Association (WABA) Championship 2017 on Saturday.

The Iranian team defeated Jordan 94-53 in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.

Iran will play Lebanon on Sunday in what is expected to be the gold medal match.

The finalists will qualify for the FIBA Asia Under-16 Championship.

The competition is an under-16 basketball championship in the International Basketball Federation's FIBA Asia zone.

The event started in 2009 and is held bi-annually. The winners compete in the FIBA Under-17 World Championship, which started in 2010.
