Iran’s Mousavi Takes Silver at Asian Weightlifting Championships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Ayoub Mousavi from Iran won a silver medal in the 2017 Asian Weightlifting Championships on Friday.

Mousavi seized a silver medal in the men’s 94kg snatch by lifting 166kg and won the gold medal in clean and jerk with 206kg.

The Iranian lifter claimed the silver medal with a total of 372kg.

Farkhodbek Sobirov from Uzbekistan won the gold medal with 175kg in snatch, 205kg in clean and jerk and 380kg in total.

Bronze medal went to Wang Ching-chieh from Chinese Taipei for a total of 317kg.

On Thursday, Saleh Cheraghi from Iran claimed a silver medal in the men's 85kg weight class with a total of 352kg.

The 2017 Asian Weightlifting Championships got underway in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
