Iran Claims WTF President’s Cup Title
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran won the 2nd World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) President’s Cup 2017 in Athens, Greece on Sunday.
The Iranian taekwondo participants won four gold medals and one bronze in the competition.
Armin Hadipour in -54kg, Mohammad Kazemi in -58kg, Mir Hashem Hosseini in -63kg and Abolfazl Yaghoubi in -68kg claimed gold medals and Sajjad Mardani seized a bronze medal in +87kg.
Iran won the team trophy, which is decided based on results over the four days of competition.
Russia finished in second place with three gold medals and two bronze medals and Spain came third, winning one gold medal, two silvers and one bronze.
