Yemeni Forces Shell Saudi Military Sites in Jizan, Najran, Kill Several Soldiers

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Yemeni army soldiers and fighters from Popular Committees killed several Saudi soldiers during separate attacks on the kingdom’s southwestern border regions of Jizan and Najran as part of retaliatory bids against the Saudi regime’s military campaign.

According to the report by Yemen’s official Saba news agency, Yemeni forces on Monday hit Saudi military sites of al-Faraidhah, al-Ashah, and al-Masfawf in Jizan, leaving two soldiers dead.

During the attacks, a number of Saudi soldiers were killed and several of their vehicles destroyed.

Separately, Yemen’s artillery pounded the positions of troops in Saudi sites of al-Talah, Rajla and Al Makhrawqa in Najran province, killing and injuring dozens of them.

The attacks by the Yemeni forces were carried out in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen.

Since March 25, 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to Hadi.

According to Yemen’s Legal Center of Rights and Development, the Saudi campaign has claimed the lives of over 12,000 Yemenis and left more than 20,000 others wounded.
