Several Dead in Severe Storm in Afghanistan's Herat

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - At least three people were killed when a severe storm hit Afghanistan’s western Herat province on Sunday, officials said.

Jelani Farhad, a spokesman for the provincial governor, told local media that the victims, all children, were killed when a wall collapsed due to the storm in Nawabad area of the provincial capital city, also Herat. The storm started at 5:30 and lasted for ten minutes.

Five more children were killed in the incident which happened when the victims were busy with playing, New Afghan Press reported.

It was not clear material damage of the storm.
