Yemeni Army Targets Saudi Forces’ Positions with Homegrown Missiles

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Yemeni army and popular committees hit the Saudi-led forces' positions with a domestically-manufactured missile in the kingdom’s southwestern region of Jizan, killing and injuring a number of Saudi mercenaries.

On Saturday, the Yemeni forces targeted enemy positions with two homegrown missiles dubbed “Zelzal-2” (Earthquake-2) in the kingdom’s al-Mawsim district in retaliation for the continued attacks on civilians by the Saudi-led coalition in the Arab country, Yemen’s official Saba news agency reported.

Large groups of the Saudi troops were killed and injured during the attacks.

Separately, the Saudi military site of Katrain in the border region of Najran was also targeted with a Zelzal-2 missile, leaving dozens of the kingdom’s soldiers dead and wounded.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been launching deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

At least 11,000 Yemenis, including women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
