Islamic Solidarity Games: Sebghatollahi Wins Iran’s Sixth Gold

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Shooter Golnoush Sebghatollahi claimed a gold medal at the Islamic Solidarity Games on Tuesday.

She claimed Iran’s sixth gold medal at the Women's 10m Air Pistol at the Baku Shooting Centre.

Narjes Andevari Emamgholinejad in the 10-metre air rifle, karate fighters Nasrin Dousti and Sajjad Ganjzadeh, judoka Saeid Mollaei and Najmeh Khedmati at the women's 50m rifle 3 positions have previously won five gold medals for Iran.

Afaf Elhodhod from Egypt ranked second in the event and Azerbaijan’s shooter Nigar Nasirova won a bronze medal.

More than 3,000 athletes from 54 countries of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation are competing in 21 sports at the Games.

The Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games started May 8 and will last until May 22 in Azerbaijan’s capital.
