Iran Beaten by Japan at Asian Women's U-23 Volleyball

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran lost to Japan 3-0 at the 2017 Asian Women's U-23 Volleyball Championship on Wednesday.

The Iranian team, who defeated Malaysia (3-0) and New Zealand (3-0), was defeated against Japan in straight sets (25–13, 25–14, 25–12) at the Mall Nakhon Ratchasima’s MCC Hall.

Iran had lost to Vietnam 3-0 on Tuesday.

Sima Sedighi’s girls will play Chinese Taipei on Friday in quarter-final.

The 2017 Asian Women's U-23 Volleyball Championship is a biennial international volleyball tournament organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Thailand Volleyball Association (TVA).

The tournament will serve as the Asian qualifiers for the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Women's U-23 World Championship held in Ljubljana and Maribor, Slovenia with the top two ranked teams qualifying for the world championship.
